In July 2016, the “Hlinská” grammar school in Žilina, Slovakia, organised a student film festival. Students presented their own videos about palm oil, food and social inequalities, fair trade and food waste. After the screening, young directors interpreted the symbols and messages used in their films. A discussion facilitated by their teacher followed. They managed to spread the message of responsible food consumption to the broader community by inviting students from nearby elementary schools to watch the movies together.
