Before the end of schools year 2015-2016 Eco-Team from primary school in Osijek, Croatia, supported by parents and other students organized Responsible Eating Fair to show and promote what they have learned thanks to the project.

Students, teachers, parents and external partners prepared delicious fruits and vegetables dishes according to the principles of responsible food consumption. There was antique cuisine, paleo recipes, teas, cookies, homemade bread, ajvar (Croatian relish), chees – everything made in responsible and eco standards. Students also created posters, wrote poetry and plays, rehearsed presentation. Students performed a play “All because of a banana” and learned about Fair Trade. At the end of the day they composted all organic waste that was really scarce.

„We had so much fun and were able to show our parents what we have learned in the past year. I hope my parents will follow my example and be responsible with food at home and at work,“ said Lucija Lauš, 7thgrade student.

Another 7th grade student, Martina Ramljak, described her impressions like this: “I am so happy that we were able to present our citizens and friends what we have learned from mister Lassina who showed us how children in Burkina Faso are stolen from their relatives and sold to work on plantations in neighbouring countries. He presented the Fairtrade production to our pupils. You should have seen our parents faces while they were listening to our presentation,”
